I want to rent out my home

If you have a residential mortgage and need to temporarily rent out your property - you can apply for a Consent to Let. This is a temporary agreement obtained from us to provide you with permission to rent your property out. It is a condition of your mortgage that you obtain consent prior to renting your property out.

This is usually over a 12 month period and is used for short term/temporary changes in your circumstances without being required to transfer to a Buy to Let mortgage.

If you wish to rent your property out on a permanent basis you'll need to apply for a Buy to Let mortgage.

won't consider an application for consent to rent out your property until at least 6 months after drawdown of the mortgage except in exceptional circumstances, such as for armed forces personnel.
